Bios


Founder: Victoria Bortolussi, PhD
Dr. Bortolussi, an educational leader for 40 years, has been an innovative college dean, for 32 years establishing countless new programs, winning millions of dollars in state and national grants. Her teaching spans college, high school, and middle school levels. Bringing together stakeholders into cohesive and effective teams to transform education is her driving passion and the key to success.
 
Associate: Penelope Paine
  
Penelope (Penny) Paine is a national trainer and consultant specializing in comprehensive career guidance programs, nontraditional occupations and special populations. A graduate of the University of London, she has also created educational publications and programs and authored twelve children's picture books. A versatile and informative presenter, Ms. Paine has conducted hundreds of workshops throughout the United States and has had contracts with the California Department of Education, the California Community  College Chancellor’s Office, and the national Business and Professional Women USA.
 
Associate: Lois Phillips, PhD
  Lois Phillips, PhD is an educational consultant who provides technical assistance, strategic planning facilitation, systems change initiatives and partnerships between government, educational, and corporate sectors. She provides staff development training, and executive coaching services to schools, colleges, and universities. Dr Phillips has facilitated Government/Education Partnership Task Forces and Commissions dealing with youth and teens. She has worked to establish grant funded projects, such as the Youth Enrichment Adventure at the UCSB Gevirtz Research Center, and facilitated Shared Governance Initiatives at Community Colleges. Dr Phillips was the founding CEO of Antioch University Santa Barbara, where she was a member of the Chancellor's Council (1977-1988) and worked on statewide and national educational initiatives and self-study accreditation reports.

  Star Hunter, MA, is an educator and consultant specializing in career and technical education and communications. Her forte is linking together diverse groups of people to realize a common goal, and guiding them to capitalize on their individual strengths . She has procured and managed grants, developed innovative and state-of-the-art programs and curriculum, and created marketing programs to disseminate information on those programs. She embraces multimedia as a tool for communicating ideas and is teaching the next generation to welcome technological change and to prepare themselves for it while adhering to the core values of content.
